Brief Project Report of Hearth Nutrition Program

Abstract:

This document provides a one-page summary of the progress of Partners for Development (PFD) Model Family Nutrition Project: Krusa Kumru L’ol (KKL). The project is being implemented in Kratie and Koh Kong provinces, Cambodia. KKL works with villages so that they can benefit from nutrition interventions based on their needs. Firstly, VHVs are trained in nutrition education, counseling, and micronutrients. Secondly, PFD uses the Hearth Model in selected villages where there are high rates of malnutrition. The Hearth Model combines community education in nutrition with nutritional rehabilitation. A Project Update from April 2005 is provided along with project results from February 2005.
