Assessment and Localization of the Millennium Development Goal on Reducing Poverty and HungerAbstract:
The aim of this study is to assess and localize the Millennium Development Goal on Poverty Reduction and Food Security as a complementary input to the Cambodia MDG Report (2003), and further policy and institutional reforms for agricultural and rural development. The study has three major objectives:
- To assess the poverty and food insecurity situation, to review RGC policies and strategies to deal with this, and to appraise the development partners’ support.
- To assess the localization of Cambodia’s MDG1 goals, targets and indicators and their implications for policy, strategy and public investment in support of agriculture and rural development.
- To identify intermediary targets and indicators for poverty reduction and food security that would be feasible and realistic to progress towards MDG and the mechanisms for monitoring of such progress.
