Traditional Infant Feeding in Two Cambodian Villages: Mother’s Practices, Knowledge and Beliefs.Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to explore traditional infant feeding practices in the rural areas of Cambodia. Mothers’ beliefs about infant feeding and their knowledge about appropriate baby foods were investigated and practical recommendations given that could lead to an improvement of
children’s nutritional status in Cambodia. The data was collected in two villages in Kampot province, one of which had received nutrition education from GTZ in the past, whereas the other village was never part of any nutrition program by an NGO.
