Abstract:

The System of Rice Intensification (SRI) is a set of innovative rice cultivation techniques or practices that can help riceplant to achieve its natural potentials in its growth and yield.SRI was innitially developed by Fr. Henri de Laulanie in Madagascar in the 1980s. With the supports of the Cornell International Institute for Food, Agriculture and Development(CIIFAD) particularly the support of Prof. Norman Upoff in 1999 SRI was promoted in 40 countries.
