National Programme for Household Food Security and Poverty Reduction 2007-2011Abstract:
National Programme for Household Food Security and Poverty Reduction 2007-2011 has been prepared and finalized by Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry (MAFF) as a part of the implementation of National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) with aim to ensure that ‘poor and food insecure Cambodians, by 2010, have substantially improve physical and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food at all time to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life.’ The programme is developed with the commitment, responsibilities and ownership of the Royal Government of Cambodia, specifically CARD and MAFF with financial support from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nation (FAO). It is also produced based on the successful experiences of the SPFS pilot project from 1998-2003, and the current National Programme for Food Security and Poverty Reduction (FSPR) from 2003 to present, both implemented by MAFF and extensively using experiences of other relevant projects.
