CDRI and the Learning Institute will organize the Cambodia Development Research Forum : 2010 CDRF Symposium on Research and Policy Response to Cambodia’s Recovery and Development, to be held on 9-10 September 2010 at Hotel Cambodiana, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The CDRF’s annual national symposium is an important event bringing together the Cambodian research community to promote the value of quality research across the Cambodian development policy making and influencing community. The objective of the 2010 Symposium is to enrich policy makers, development partners and researchers with knowledge on the contribution of research to policy making during the recent global financial crisis. Our ultimate aim is to build ‘research culture’ and bridge the policy-research gap in Cambodia.
To achieve the above objectives, the symposium is structured into two major components: plenary sessions and breakout sessions. In the plenary session, it will discuss the “Research as an input to policy design in response to the Global Economic Crisis”; while the parallel sessions will discuss the following subthemes:
(i) trade, growth and economic development; (ii) agriculture, rural development, poverty, food
security and livelihood; (iii) natural resources, environment, and climate change; and (iv) good
