National Farmer’s Forum on Climate Change to be held on March 4, 2010Event detail:
In cooperation with Catholic Relief Services, the NGO Forum on Cambodia and Geres Cambodia, Caritas Cambodia together with the Council for Agriculture and Rural Development and National Committee for Disaster Management seek participation in the first national farmer’s forum on climate change to be held March 4, 2010 at National Insstitute of Education, Phnom Penh. The forum will bring together farmers, NGOs, as well as Governmental Organizations concerned about climate change issues to disseminate and discuss the issue with the aim to increase farmers’ deeper understanding and priorities on the issue as well as to initially explore adaptive measure especially regarding food production.
- Disseminate information to farmers on the root causes, impact, and current situation of climate change in Cambodia to increase their knowledge and understanding of the issue.
- Share and disseminate knowledge and experience on household food production in the context of climate change.
- Hold roundtable discussions (farmer, GO, NGO) to deepen farmers’ understanding on climate change, get their recommendations, and provide platform for farmers to raise their concerns on the issue.
