Official Launch of “The National Trainer Pool for Food Security and Nutrition” on 24th February 2010News detail:
Capacity development is central to mainstreaming Food Security and Nutrition (FSN) into national policies, strategies and the decentralized planning process as well as to designing, targeting and implementing appropriate interventions.
The Council for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD), with the support of FAO and other partners, has initiated a National Trainer Pool for Food Security and Nutrition that serves both the sensitization and training on FSN for actors involved in rural development, policy formulation and planning.
The national trainer pool, which was officially established by the Royal Government of Cambodia on 19 December 2009, is a mechanism to foster Food Security and Nutrition related Capacity Development in Cambodia. It is set up to ensure standard trainings and to sustain the operation of capacity building. Curricula on FSN, based on an integrated and holistic understanding of FSN, are available for different levels of training, including TOT.
In order to bring this attention to wider stakeholders and to promote the use of the pool, CARD in cooperation with FAO will be organizing an Official Launch of “The National Trainer Pool for Food Security and Nutrition” on 24th February 2010 at the Office of the Council of Ministers (meeting room B, ground floor).
The purposes of the launch are:
- To officially announce the decision on the establishment of the national trainer pool for food security and nutrition training.
- To inform stakeholders of the availability of trainer pool, and
- To promote the use of the trainer pool.
More than 100 participants from concerned stakeholders including government ministries and agencies, development partners, civil societies and private sectors are invited.Source institution:
