The 1st 7C Sub-area Forum – “Stakeholder Participation, Key Issues and Opportunities”

The Cambodian Mekong National Committee (CNMC) would like to invite Cambodian national stakeholders in the water resources management in the Lower Sekong, Lower Sesan and Lower Se Prok, as well as interested regional and international stakeholders in the Lower Mekong Basin to join The 1st 7C Sub-area Forum – “Stakeholder Participation, Key Issues and Opportunities” on June 22nd – 23rd at Sekong Star Hotel, Strung Treng Province, Cambodia.

The 1st 7C Sub-area Forum is part of a meeting series of the MRC Basin Development Plan Programme Phase 2 (BDP2)and its partners that aims to bring together a wide range of stakeholders at the sub-area and sub-tributaries to dialogue on the state of the LMB tributaries and the LMB - and develop a participatory mechanism for a bottom up river basin planning from national tributaries through to the regional LMB.

 

The objectives of the 1st 7C Sub-area Forum can be summarized as follows:

  • To present the MRC BDP2 and ADB 3S Study to stakeholders in the Sub-area 7C and collect comments
  • To facilitate dialogue and identify key issues surrounding management and development of water and related resources that will later on help BDP2 and its partners prepare the up-coming related sub-area activities and other forums
  • To strengthen the participatory planning process for 7C sub-area, involving a wide range of stakeholders representatives
