The National Workshop on the Importance of Fisheries Resources in Cambodia: Role in Improving Food and Nutrition Security of the People

The Danida-funded project on "The Role of Fish in Food and Nutrition Security in Developing Countries: Focus on Combating Micronutrient Deficiencies" which formulated since 2005 by the Department of Human Nutrition, Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Denmark in collaboration with the Fisheries Administration, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in Cambodia. On behalf of the Project Management, we are pleased to inform you that we are organizing a National Workshop on “The Importance of Fisheries Resources in Cambodia: Role in Improving Food and Nutrition Security of the People” which will take place at Himawari Hotel, Phnom Penh on Monday, 20th October 2008.

 

The workshop has three objectives:

  • To present, discuss and get feedback on the findings of the project
  • To increase awareness on the importance of fisheries resources in improving food and nutrition security
  • To provide recommendations for strategic development of fisheries in combating micronutrient deficiencies, thereby poverty reduction of Cambodians
