The Council for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD), with the financial support from World Food Programme (WFP) and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), is conducting a review of the Strategic Framework for Food Security and Nutrition (SFFSN) 2008-2012, which was developed with a broad consultation process with all relevant stakeholders during 2007 and approved in May 2008.
The main objectives of the review are:
- to assess the use and usefulness of the SFFSN for coordination, policy, strategy, and program formulation;
- to monitor results achieved against relevant targets and indictors of theSFFSN monitoring framework and to outline an improved monitoring system for the strategy; and
- to produce a concept note and roadmap for the next steps to update the SFFSN and to develop an action and investment plan.
Two consultants—a national and an international, will meet with a wide range of stakeholders to get inputs for the review during the review period from September to October 2011.
