Project Description

The project goal is to contribute to the eradication of poverty and food insecurity among small-scale farmers in Cambodia by building their capacity to increase food production and to develop new income-generating activities.


The project objective is to enable 13{comma}950 target families in 3 districts of  Prey Veng province to intensify and diversify agricultural production and facilitate the development of small and micro-business activities through training and farmer-to-farmer extension


Project activities: 

  • • Capacity building for 750 representatives from 150

existing village-based farmer organizations and 400

farmer promoters to provide support for the vulnerable


  • Training support for 600 representatives from women’s groups and young farmer groups
  • Support the establishment of three community-based  rice mills and training support for 45 management committee members
  • Increase the knowledge of 1{comma}800 women on nutrition and water sanitation
  • Raise the awareness of villagers on nutrition and waste sanitation
  • Capacity building for approximately 200 commune councillors and other local stakeholders on food security and social development
  • Organizing workshops and meetings to increase cooperation between village-based farmer organizations{comma} local authorities{comma} and other stakeholders
